The Stanley Hotel is located in the Rocky Mountains-Estes Park, CO-and is the hotel that inspired Stephen King to write his popular horror novel The Shinning. Stephen King experienced the hotels ghosts himself and inspired him due to how isolated and lonely you feel in the isolated hotel. One girl says a little female ghost named Katy hangs out with her.
The three guys stayed in three of the most haunted rooms in the hotel (by themselves) with a camera set up to capture footage. They also had hand held cameras with them and their recording devices to capture EVP's. Nick captured an EVP around 2:45 in the morning that said, "you better start talking". Zak was awakened by a noise, and soon after that his digital recorder captured an EVP that said, "somebody's coming". The EVP Aaron caught was humorous. He was snoring very loudly and caught an EVP that said, "hey, come on". The guys strongly believed that Aaron agitated a spirit in the room with his snoring. I found it very funny. Nick then caught an EVP around 3:30 that said, "they're up late". Meanwhile, in Aaron's room-while he continued to snore-caught another EVP that said, "pass the key". That spirit was a little annoyed with Aaron. Zak caught an eerie EVP that said, "that was a shadow".

Return to Bobby Mackey's Music World- Season 4
My very first blog was about the investigation at Bobby Mackey's Music World located in Kentucky. In the first investigation the boys were physically attacked by powerful spirits they ruled as being demons. This second investigation actually scared me the first time I watched it, because these are definitely very malevolent and evil spirits. An exorcism took place to the janitor who lived in the building that was recorded-it was a demonic possession. They show clips of the exorcism, and it was frightening and disturbing. Some people call this place the Gate to Hell and the crew admits they were scared to come back. Sometimes spirits, especially evil ones (or demonic ones) will attach to you and follow you home. This was the first and only investigation the boys have done where things followed them home and terrorized and haunted them. All three boys were haunted by demonic and angry entities. Aaron's marriage ended because the wife was so afraid of being with him because of the hauntings that occurred after their first investigation. A few Ghost Adventures fans who joined the boys in part of the first investigation also experienced chilling hauntings for months. Demonic spirits make it personal in order to attack you and get into your head. They manipulate memories and mimic voices-play on emotions.
In this investigation they brought the bishop with them that performed the exorcism to this lock down. They caught an EVP that said "I'm gonna kill Zak". Next they got an EVP "I'm gonna kill your wife". Nick is the only one married now, so was this directed towards him? Zak asked why the spirits only live in the basement and don't come up to the bar. They got what is a class A, intelligent response on their digital records that said "I can't go back in there". Next the crew brought in the priest. The boys had to give the priest permission to exorcise them if needed. After capturing a few threatening EVP's directed to the bishop the crew asked "What color are your eyes?" A response said "Black".
They used another device that spirits can use to directly communicate since they were getting so many direct responses. Zak asked "What's your name". They device then said "Scott". Scott was a confirmed satan worshiper who decapitated his girlfriend in this building as a blood sacrifice to the devil. They continued to get responses until finally is said "I killed Pearl Bryan". This is the name of Scott's girlfriend that he murdered. They then left the bishop alone. The bishop caught an EVP that is not appropriate to blog. The Ghost Adventures crew also caught a couple other very inappropriate EVP. The bishop then asked if the spirits intentions were evil. They caught an EVP that said "That's because it's the Devil." Very chilling! The bishop then went from room to room trying to cleanse the building. After awhile the bishop asked the boys to stop filming because Zak and Aaron had to undergo an exorcism. Aaron said all he wanted to do was hurt and kill the bishop.
This is the scariest episode, but it is also my favorite. I couldn't detail everything because the blog got too long. This place is absolutely insane.

Execution Rocks Lighthouse- Season 3
In the middle of long island lies a deserted reef where Execution Rock Lighthouse is. During colonial times, prisoners who were condemned would be chained to the rocks until the tide got too high and killed them. The British executed often here and would leave the dead bodies hanging from the rocks. This is an area where many ships would wreck.
In this episode, the most interesting part was when the boys had downtime to fish and have a cookout. You get to see them in more of a personal light. The investigation as a whole was boring. Nothing really happened in the episode. They used the goggles with the word database that came out saying "mercury". They made assumptions that maybe a lighthouse guard died from mercury poisoning. Which could be a long shot. That's all they really got. This was definitely probably the worst episode of the series. It was just boring and didn't catch your attention at all, and there was really no evidence. The lighthouse has a dark history, but maybe it isn't actually haunted.

Washoe Club/Chollar Mine- Season 3
This is located in Virginia City, Nevada and is a haunted old mining town. It is also the site of the Ghost Adventures crew's first investigation before they started this show. They created a documentary at this location nearly 5 years ago. They captured a full body apparition at their last visit, which was crazy clear to see! (They do show old footage in this episode) Other investigators have captured EVP's of spirits actually mentioning Zak and Nick's name. They have literally been calling them back. One team of EVP specialists captured an EVP that said "Hate Nick". That team also caught an EVP that said "Zak look out". The craziest EVP was from this same team that said "Zak, Nick, coming, they're scarring me". The team has been called back by these spirits, so here they are! This is an obvious intelligent haunting.
They also did part of this investigation at the Chollar Mine near the Washoe Club. They probably did this so they would be investigating something new as well.
In the Chollar Mine they caught an EVP that said "help". They used their word database technology, which was described in an earlier blog. What they got was "Frank", then "stair", then "fell through". Their static night vision camera's audio captured noises like miners working. This indicates a residual haunting.
They then returned to the Washoe Club. The team made sure to announce that they were back, just as what was requested by the spirits that haunt this building! They heard a loud bang, like something was thrown. They next used another communication device that spirits use to communicate through the white noise. They first captured a voice saying "trouble". After that they brought in Mark and Debbie, who were the EVP specialists previously mentioned, to do an EVP session to try and hold a conversation. Mark asked "What do you think of Zak, Nick, and Aaron coming back?". They caught an EVP saying "we're not scared of them". The next question was "can you tell me how many of you are here right now?". They caught "better not" as a response. They then asked "Did you follow Nick home yesterday to scare him?". The response they received was "yeah." They are dealing with very intelligent spirits. Next they captured an EVP that said "Nick go home" and then another EVP in a different voice saying "I hate Nick". Mark then asked, "do you want these boys to go home?". They then captured an EVP that said "Groff!", which is Nick's last name. These spirits do not like Nick! Nick is the one who set up the camera that caught that incredible apparition 5 years ago.
They did capture a tall white mist figure.
This episode had a plethora of EVP's and the most intelligent spirits the boys have come into contact with.

Eastern State Penitentiary- Season 2
The Eastern State Penitentiary is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This prison is 180 years old. They predict about 75,000 people were locked up here over time. They used solitary confinement to rehabilitate the prisoners. When they were moved, bags were placed over their heads to keep them in complete solitude. Al Capone was locked up in this prison. Guards would hear him constantly yelling "Go away" and "leave me alone". Al Capone was convinced he was being haunted by a man he killed in the St. Valentines Day Massacre.
They captured an EVP that said, "I knew God". This is symbolic because Puritans believed that such solitary confinement in this prison would allow prisoners to re-connect with God. They also captured something or someone whispering, "Hi" to the guys. They also captured the classic, "Get out" EVP. They captured a few noises, such as screams, dragging, and knocks. But, this is the majority of the evidence they found.
There is a difference between residual spirits and intelligent spirits. A residual haunting is more like an impression made in time. It's like a constant playback of events that happened in the past. The actual spirits are often not even there, just their energy is. Screaming, dragging, and noises related to a time period and a building's story is all evidence of a residual haunting. Intellegent spirits are those who actually interact with us. They are actually there and aware of our presence, which is not true with residual spirits (if their spirits are there, they are not aware of us because they are stuck forever in a time warp). Intelligent spirits would be the ones that answer our questions on EVP's and sometimes have conversations through any communication device. They are also the ones who will attack us or make noises that are in direct correlation of what we are doing or saying in a spirit's presence. I am giving this information because it helps clear things up and give you a better understanding of what might be going on in their investigations. The times when they are not interacted with, but do capture different noises, is probably because they are not dealing with intelligent spirits, but residual ones. This lock down, in my opinion, was mostly a residual haunting. That is why they didn't come out with that intense evidence that is memorable. I'll do better at notifying you of these different hauntings.

Clovis Wolfe Manor-Season Two
This building is located in Clovis, California. People call this place a black hole because many entered this building without ever leaving. The building first belonged to a family who lost it in The Great Depression and sat vacant for many years after. Then it was turned into a sanitarium. It housed many violent, irrational patients and the sanitarium averaged one death per day. It's been reported then lots of abuse to the patients went on here, including being tied to bed posts. An employee lasted on average only 30 days before leaving. One really bizarre thing is that the Clovis Police Department has received phone calls from the manor, but the manor has no phone service or electricity at all.
On thins episode the crew used a new technology. This technology lets you see a spectrum of light that spirits may be seen in. It's called an ultra-violent camera. You can see motion that appears in purple or blue that you cannot see with night vision or even in the infra-red spectrum.
One EVP that was caught said "Nick, heard his name". Nick is the name of one of the investigators. After that, Nick thought he saw a flash of light and started asking Zak, the lead investigator, if he saw it too. They then caught an EVP that said "Wasn't me Zak". After a few other EVPs they caught an interesting one that said, "Want your energy". This is interesting because spirits feed off of whatever energy they can to try and manifest or even talk to us.
They then took out their new ultra-violent spectrum camera. This technology was incredible and very cool. They catch a purple blob, just like it was said to do, moving around in the basement. When I first saw the purple appear and move, it kind of made me jump! Once the purple light went around the corner, Aaron put a digital recorder, the device that catches EVP's, on the ground where the purple light was seen. The purple light then reappeared and looked like it was laying right over the recorder. This shows that this spirit was really trying to speak into this device to talk with us! What the digital recorder picked up was a voice saying "stay". They then took this technology to an upstairs bedroom, but didn't have any luck with it in that room.
This was a great episode. It had quite a few EVP's and the use of the ultra-violet camera was incredible.

Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum- Season 2
This episode was a bonus episode because it took place live. This asylum is located in Weston, West Virginia and is the largest building in the town. The town is also known for this building. This building was a hospital for the mentally ill and the elderly. The hospital was intended to hold only 250 patients, but it eventually reached up to 2,500 patients. There was not any room by any means and was very understaffed. The grounds has 3 grave yards because of all the deaths and was finally shut down due to insufficient funds. The building just lays empty.
In this investigation they had specialists constantly monitoring and analyzing the crew's investigation, hence why it was live. Different guest investigators and specialists entered the building periodically. They used their spirit box to communicate with spirits. This box catches spirit voices within the white noise. This was very successful because they were receiving intelligent responses to the questions they were asking, which also means they were having some sort of a conversation in real time. They got EVP's telling them to "get out". They also captured mist and light anomalies on their digital cameras. Overall it was a pretty good episode. The best evidence and part of the show was when they were receiving intelligent responses to their questions.

Birdcage Theater- Season 2
The Birdcage Theater is located in Tombstone, Arizona; the old west. This building represents the silver boom heyday. There's been reported disembodied voices and even a few apparitions. An apparition is a manifestation of a spirit. There has also been a photograph taken of a slight apparition. People also say they can hear people playing poker and shuffling cards. Gambling and poker was big at the Birdcage Theater. There's been many violent gun fights in this area, where many rough old west cowboys have died.
There were a lot of noises, but no EVP's really. They did catch an EVP of what sounded like a poker game was going on. You can hear cards shuffling and poker chips. Zak said that he caught a glimpse of a woman's face, but it was not documented. There wasn't solid, breathe taking evidence from this episode, but they did catch a few noises. Some of their tactics were also funny to watch. They can be pretty comical in some of the ways they investigate!

Moon River Brewery-Season 2
The Moon River Brewery is located in Savannah, Georgia. Savannah is sometimes said to be America's most haunted city. This brewery is in the building where Savannah's first hotel was. The spirits in this building are very active, and most of them pretty nasty and unfriendly. This blog gets long due to the amount of evidence captured in this episode.
A women was pushed down a staircase, so Zak went to the top of this staircase to possibly provoke that same spirit to push him. While at the top of the staircase, they captured an EVP of a women saying "don't do that". After some more of Zak saying "push me down these stairs", they captured another EVP, of possibly the same women, saying "i don't wanna". This voice was heard by the crew's own ears before they analyzed their EVP's.
The crew likes to use different scientific technology to back up their evidence, so they used equipment that has a 2000 word database in it. Spirits can use energy from this device to manipulate the word database and choose words to communicate with. This equipment consists of goggles with two video screens and a night vision camera that a person points to certain areas. Words will appear on the screens if a spirit manipulates this energy. Keep in mind, you can walk around for days and not see one word on these screens. Words only appear when spirit energy chooses them. They got some pretty cool stuff using this technology, and it's a super neat device to use. They also were using an EVP device while doing this. The words "gender" and "sister" popped up and the crew thought maybe a spirit was trying to say that she's a women. Suddenly their word database equipment started to malfunction and they captured an EVP saying "it's the god", while this malfunctioning was happening. It's a little known fact that the spirits in this location do not like when talks of renovation go on, so Zak stood up a ladder and told the spirits he was going to renovate the place. Their word database equipment again worked and it said "remove" and then "step". Clearly they wanted that ladder gone. Then Zak asked, "If I don't remove the ladder, what are you going to do?". The equipment then pulled up the word "yell". Later on, they did hear a yell.
After a while Nik began feeling really drained and sick. He then started acting really weird and was staring into space. Zak and Aaron tried communicating with Nik but he just stared. After a couple minutes Nik started talking and said he just blacked out and didn't remember anything but feeling really angry and wanting to make Zak and Aaron leave the building. The crew thinks Nik maybe went under a minor partial possession.
This episode collected a lot of evidence, some I didn't even explain in this blog. The blog is getting too long due to so much evidence and unexplained things happening. It was a very enjoyable episode. They do bring in science into their investigations. Maybe believe yet? ;)

Magnolia Plantation- Season 2
Magnolia Plantation is located in Natchitoches, La. This is a place where many slaves labored and died in the fields they worked in. Evidence of voodoo rituals that slaves performed as a form of revenge on their owners has also been discovered. When the crew was doing the walk through before the lock down, the care owners of the plantation wouldn't disclose any of the information that linked the plantation to voodoo. The ghost adventures crew dug that up themselves.
This episode was definitely one of the better episodes. The ghost adventures crew always does idiotic things to try and "connect" with and "pull" out the spirits. In this episode they partook in a voodoo ritual to open themselves up to the spirits. During the ritual a photo was taken, and in the smoke you can see a very distinct women's face. It was extremely creepy. One of the slave cabins had a light that flickered on and off without explanation. The guards said it has never done that, and there was nobody inside the cabin. So that whole ordeal was pretty crazy. The next thing was when Zak and Aaron were inside one of the cabins. They put their voodoo doll they used inside the middle of the floor and after a while the two of them started freaking out about hearing chanting and screaming. They enhanced the audio on their cameras and EVP recorders and you can hear what they were hearing. You hear very distinct and real chanting noises. They guessed it was the spirits replicating one of their rituals. That also was pretty mind blowing.
I really liked this episode. It was really interesting. What I like best about this show is that the crew and analysts are always trying to debunk everything they think is paranormal. If they do debunk it as something that is not paranormal and has explanation, they will always tell you.

Old Idaho Penitentiary- Season One
The Old Idaho Penitentiary once housed criminals and murderers, mostly destined for the gallows. Ten executions took place in this prison, along with murders inside the prison walls. One man who was executed, didn't die until 15 minutes after he started to hang. This was due to something wrong with the rope.
The crew again didn't get the best evidence from this lock down. At least them airing episodes that didn't get the best evidence contributes to their credibility. You hear a few unexplained noises, and they capture one EVP. This EVP wasn't clear enough to make out what the spirit was maybe trying to say. Next they used another new method using technology called ITC, or instrumental trans-communication. They set up a television set and video camera on a tripod. Next they take the audio jacks from the camera and plug them into the television. It's said to pick up images of spirits. They record for 30 seconds at a time, several times. After analyzing, they captured a very chilling image of a body shape, with a skinny neck, and a head that looked like it had the type of bag put over inmates before they are hung over it. That image was really cool and intense.
That image was the best evidence from this lock down. I am going to do one more episode from this season and move on to season two. The technology gets more advanced, and the evidence more compelling!

Moundsville State Penitentiary-Season 1
This prison has seen a lot of death and riots. Inmates would kill each other and attack guards in many riots. Lots of prisoners were killed in gruesome ways, such as putting a man in boiling hot water to boil to death. Often inmates were also executed.
The Ghost Adventures crew got some threatening EVPs, or electronic voice phenomenon. Including possibly "I'll kill you" and an extremely creepy laugh. At first it seemed to me the crew did not get the best evidence, and not much activity, but at the end of the episode they took their EVPs to EVP specialists Debbie and Mark Constantino. These two will appear throughout the series because they are highly acclaimed EVP specialists. They were able to catch even more EVPs that were more hidden. With the creepy laugh, they caught another "I'll kill you", right before the laugh. They also found things such as, "look up", "I've gone away", and more "I'll kill you". After the EVPs were further analyzed, the episode got that much more interesting.

Bobby Mackey's Music World-Season 1
Bobby Mackey's Music World is located in Wilder, Kentucky, and is owned by the country music musician, Bobby Mackey. This location is a former speakeasy and slaughter house. It is said that this location is haunted by several malevolent spirits who have attacked the living. In 1896 a women named Pearl Brian was beheaded by her lover and his friend. They tossed her head down a well as a said sacrifice to the devil, which is located in the Bobby Mackey club. This well is said to be a "portal to hell". When the two were executed, they said they would forever haunt the building.
A dancer's father from the building, when it was a speakeasy, killed her lover. The dancer's name was Johanna, and she poisoned her father and committed suicide in the building. Bobby Mackey has a famous song about Johanna.
There is also said to have been devil worshipers who have performed rituals and sacrifices near the infamous well. The building's caretaker also went under demonic possession and an exorcism was performed.
The three investigators used the taunting method in this investigation, which will prove to be a bad idea when dealing with supposed demonic spirits. They experience unexplained female voices and a loud banging on the bathroom walls. They used EMF detectors, or electromagnetic field detectors, which are said to detect what spirits give off. They also used EVP's, or electronic voice phenomenon, which captures spirit voices through the white noise. The only EVP they captured in this episode was a female crying and a male voice saying, "precious, no". Was this Pearl Brian and her boyfriend who sacrificed her? The craziest evidence came from Zak starting to feel a burning sensation on his back and the team found that he was scratched by a demonic entity that was mocking the trinity. His taunting was probably the reason for this.
This location is one of my favorites. There is a part two to this episode when they revisit this location which is way better. I recommend trying to catch it on the television. This is the first episode ever to the series, so the investigating gets better and the evidence gets more compelling, including EVP's, in later episodes. Also, if you have Netflix you can instantly stream almost every episode. There is also new Ghost Adventures every Friday night on the Travel Channel.

Quick Introduction to the team
I thought before I wrote about any of the episodes, I better make a quick blog about the ghost adventure's crew members.
There's Zak Bagans, the lead investigator and series' host. Then there is Nick Groff, a co-investigator and cameraman. Last is Aaron Goodwin, the crew's co-investigator, equipment technician, and cameraman. Only the three of them conduct their investigations in a lock down technique from dusk to dawn; leaving no escape or entry!
